The decor is quaint, and the ambiance feels both relaxing and luxurious. Breakfast was delicious with local and western options, and staff were kind and attentive. I also enjoyed treatments at the amazing spa, which honors the healing traditions of the region.

The room was clean and spacious and has lots of character.
The room was connected to another room (that presumably should be sold as one). We could hear very clearly our neighbours and were disturbed at night. When complaing about this to the staff were very unhelpful and did nothing to resolve it. Bathroom is far from sound-proof. There are wooden slides that separate the bathroom from the bedroom and any sound made in the bathroom can clearly be heard by the person you are sharing with. There was no price list on the mini bar and I paid three times the usual price for a soft drink. Staff were rather too attentive and we felt it was overwhelming, and intrusive. The hotel is located away from the main centre. It is a twenty minute walk down a very noisy, traffic laden road. There isn't much a pavement for pedestrians. We struggled to get an invoice for the room upon check out. The hotel said that as I had booked through Booked.net they do not provide invoices (this is the first time this has happened on our three week trip). Eventually they did provide a print out of the cost of the room.

elegantly decorated room, charming vintage decor, historic architecture
Check-in experience needs clarity regarding payment processing!!! The pool is smaller than expected, and the TV channel selection is outdated. Perhaps consider upgrades during the next refresh!!! How about improving communication for refunds too?

Is very convenient to Jonker Walk. Enjoyed the 3 hour spa - comfort, relaxing, Hepi was very professional. The fruit tea drink was unique. wish they sell it. Staffs were very helpful - gave us direction and even booked a table for us at the chinese resturant. I liked the big bottles of peanuts, biscuits, sweets, sugar biscuits etc that was free, help yourself to what you like.
There is no leaflets for tourist - places of interest or map of Malacca.

Staff very accommodating. Hotel clean and smelled great!
Staff in dining area overworked. Insufficient waiters to the amount of people dining at breakfast. Waited 20 mins for a table then had to set it myself.

Charming colonial style. The staff were attentive, but the breakfast options could use more variety to keep it exciting for longer stays.

Please stay at this hotel if only for the excellent 2.5 hour complimentary walking tour provided daily by the hotel! Take the evening tour and you finish up in the town centre for dinner, while if you took the morning tour, the heat would make the 2.5 hours painful. The high quality of the tour is what is surprising, it isn't a basic sight-seeing tour but takes in flora, fauna, history and economics by a qualified and fluent English-speaker. The hotel itself is beautiful and staff were extremely attentive (almost over-attentive at times). We didn't eat at the hotel, however we were informed by locals that some of the hawker stalls on Bunga Raya Street were some of the best in town, and they were! The little sweets left in our room in the evenings were also a real treat, especially as they weren't things I would necessarily have tried otherwise. The pool is perfect for a quick dip after walking around sight-seeing, but due to the historic nature of the building and site, is small and shaded, so not a pool to lounge about all day.
I would agree with the negative comments about hearing the neighbour's plumbing in the morning. It not in the centre of the historical old town, however that is only a good excuse to take one of the gaudy trishaws (about 15 rm) if you don't mind the music. It's directly across from the Kampung Morden, if you want to see a traditional Malayan village.

The staff was very nice and the rooms were very classic. Good value for the money. Only the food was oke, not bad. But not what we used to be in Malasia.

The charming building exudes character, and the spacious Beautiful Double Room was a haven with a comfortable bed. The breakfast was good, with made-to-order dishes, and the staff were friendly and accommodating. Although the location required a bit of walking to popular spots, the amenities, including a large bathtub and a lovely pool, added to the experience. The cozy atmosphere made relaxing easy, and the tea and cookies upon arrival seemed like a special touch.
